FAQs

  • I currently ONLY see clients virtually. I have found the flexibility of virtual therapy allows clients to fit therapy into their schedule with ease! All you need is a stable WIFI connection, your device of choice, and a pair of headphones. For clients who are apprehensive about getting started in therapy, the comfort of a familiar setting can be incredibly reassuring. Bonus - no need to commute to an office!

  • As a Therapist, my approach is very collaborative - we are in this together! During the first couple of sessions, my primary goal will be to learn about you! We will work together to create therapy goals and objectives - these goals will help us measure progress and stay on course during your therapy journey. I am here to listen without judgement and support your growth and hard work. During therapy you will have opportunities to challenge your current way of thinking, receive unbiased feedback, understand your emotions, identify and practice coping strategies, vent, complain, cry it out, and laugh along the way!

  • Therapy sessions typically last for 50 minutes, however I will happily accommodate a 30 minute session if your schedule and/or insurance allows it. Typically I meet with clients weekly, however therapy with me is fluid and collaborative. If you feel every other week or even twice a week best meets your needs, I am always supportive of that choice! I do prefer in the very beginning of our relationship to meet with clients weekly so we can get to know each other and I can understand your needs. The length of time a client participates in therapy is solely dependent on that individual. Some clients seek out a therapist during a specifically challenging time in their life and only participate until they reach their goals; other clients may choose to see a therapist for a very prolonged period of time to always have a supportive shoulder to lean on and an unbiased person to work through issues with.

  • I currently accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois PPO (BCBSIL), Aetna, and United Healthcare.

I am also able to accept cash pay clients. I charge $180 for a 50-minute cash pay session, payment is due at the end of the appointment.

If you do not have accepted insurance at this time, I can provide you with a superbill at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance company. Before booking an appointment, I suggest calling the number on the back of your insurance card inquiring about your "out of network" therapy benefits and learning about how to submit an out-of-network reimbursement claim.

  • A superbill is a detailed invoice outlining the services a client received. Therapists may need to generate a superbill when they are not on a client’s insurance company’s panel. The client submits the superbill directly to the insurer, giving the insurer all the information they need to pay the claim.

Though all services are delivered virtually, licensure requirements only allow for me to meet with clients currently living and participating in therapy while in the state of Illinois.
